Meet Zander
Meet Zander Ceunen, a 16-year-old student at Sint-Franciscus College whose curiosity spans the realms of economic sciences, mathematics, and the ever-evolving sphere of technology. Drawn to subjects with tangible, real-world applications, Zander finds both inspiration and challenge in the logical structures of maths and the complexities of modern computing.
But academics are just one facet of Zander’s dynamic life. His true energy emerges on the tennis court, in the pool, and across the pavement as a dedicated athlete. Whether he’s racing through the water or cycling through the countryside, Zander embraces the thrill of competition and the joy of pushing his limits. From survival running events to a planned triathlon with friends, he’s constantly seeking new ways to test his endurance and strengthen the bonds formed through shared challenges.
Beyond physical pursuits, Zander is equally captivated by the digital world, especially cybersecurity. He views it as the modern-day battleground where protecting data is as critical as safeguarding our homes, and he hopes to become a guardian of digital safety for everyone. His balanced temperament allows him to thrive in team settings, harmonising diverse perspectives while keeping group objectives on track.
Zander’s journey took a transformative turn at ISLI, where he discovered the power of collaboration, forged lasting friendships, and learned valuable lessons—often without even realising it at the time. These memories remain a cherished part of his life, inspiring him to return for ISLI 2025 and share that same spirit of growth and community with others.
With a keen interest in bridging the physical and digital worlds, Zander is poised to make an impact—whether he’s crossing a finish line or writing the next chapter in cybersecurity. He’s excited for the opportunities ahead and can’t wait to continue his ISLI adventure with fellow Regents and participants.
